2016 World Series Game 1: Tribe 6, Cubs 0
We’ve been going to Tribe games for years, and have even made it to a handful of playoff games. Even a few weeks ago, my buddy Bob and I went to Game 1 of the American League Division Series, where we beat Boston 5-4.
But this night (Oct. 25) was special. It was Game 1 of the 2016 World Series…against the Chicago Cubs…and just next door the Cavs were playing their home opener and receiving the NBA Finals championship rings.
Bob reached out over the weekend when he was able to get four tickets. The next day I was on a flight from Denver to Cleveland (using miles), and I joined Bob, Tony and their mom to see the Tribe win 6-0.
Sadly, the series ended in heartache, again, as we lost it in extra inning of Game 7.
